Federico Castigliano writes at the crossreads of poetry, philosophy and place. He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Culture (University of Turin, Italy) and is qualified as an Associate Professor (French National Council of Universities). After working for several years in France, he currently lives in Shanghai, China. He has been a member of the research team ELCI (Équipe Littérature et Culture Italiennes) at the University of Paris-Sorbonne, the Associazione di Teoria e Storia Comparata della Letteratura, and the American Comparative Literature Association. His research focuses on aesthetic theory, the figures of the flâneur, and the experience of phantasmagorias in contemporary society.

He has been regularly invited to give lectures at several renowned universities, including Université de Nantes, Université de Toulon, Université de Clermont-Ferrand, Université de Nice, University of London, Università di Messina, Università di Napoli Federico II, Politecnico di Milano, NEOMA Business School, Beijing International Studies University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing Normal University, Communication University of China, Istituto Marangoni Shanghai, Nanjing Normal University, Wengzhou-Kean University, and Zhejiang University of Science and Technology.

He is the founder of ScholarGate Academic Consulting, a consultancy based in Shanghai (China) and focused on advancing research and publication in the humanities and social sciences.
